Both PCGS graded. Coin 1 is AU58 and coin 2 is MS63.

It's remarkable how similar they are.

I think the first coin is the higher graded one, but I don't care for the dark patch directly in front of the nose, and the streaks near the chin.

For that reason, and since coin 2 doesn't have negative toning in the prime focal areas, I would choose coin 2.

I say one but it is a virtual toss up.
The surfaces on two are distracting to me in the pics.
Probabley barely noticeable in hand though.

I like the obverse on #2 and the reverse on #1. I lean to #2 but I have a feeling the luster pops on #1 so in hand I could see myself taking #1.

Love them both - the toning is a touch nicer on the 58 - but the 63 is
just beautiful.

I like your's alot more.

58's are the absolute best bargain in coins.

I like the look of number 2 better, but what is the difference in value between the two? That is always a consideration for what goes into a set IMHO. Matching the rest of the set is also a consideration. If the value is subtantially different, I would be happy with number 1, given that I did not have an all MS set. Same thing goes for number 2, if I had an AU set and the price was close I would add that one as well.

Price independent, I like number 2 better (before I read the grades)
