Between a 30 and 35 is right where this coin lies.

I also don't see any large hits on the coin, although it may have had an old cleaning or dipping to create those colors the way they are.

But still a great looking coin

A great coin with a great look. Likely cleaned at one time and retoned, that doesn't bother me in the least in terms of the coin's desirability. Very nice!

I'd grade the coin VF 30 details, cleaned and attractively retoned, net VF 35.

Oh yeah, that's nice. Grades "choice" regardless of whether it was cleaned or not- assuming it does not have hairlined surfaces (can never tell from a photo). Love the overall look of it. This is a great choice for a type coin.

Lightly cleaned generations ago and now retoning. I don't prefer the color. Net 20. No sticker.

Edited to add: if it isn't hairlined (It has been cleaned before, like almost all busties, but it looks gently done from the pics.)

The earlier larger Bust Quarters are so tough to find nice. This one is likely VF30 shot 35 and the color does lead one to ask the question you did as to the surfaces. I would rather see the coin in hand before commenting- because there are mixed signals with this. The colors are alittle unusual, however there appears to be signs or originality on the reverse suggesting that if the coin had been dipped, that gunk would have come off. The big plus is the wear pattern and the contrast... the worn areas would not likely have this degree of contrast with the rest of the coin. It is attractive for the series and worth considering

Choice VF (30/35)... probably cleaned long ago but it has since retoned quite nicely. I like it!

so you just lookin for help buying and not trying to learn, or contribute??

Why not just hire a buyer that knows what they are doing, and try to figure out
what you are good at doing.

Ouch, a bit harsh don't you think? Besides how is he going to learn except through asking questions about the things he is interested in. He can ask me anytime, I'll tell him what I think (for what it's worth) if he is buying a coin, selling a coin or whatever. We are all here to learn and become better collectors, even people who are looking to buy....aren't we?

He is the one that say our advise doesn't, didn't matter.

Doesn't sound to me like someone trying to learn anything, or contribute, just using
others to his advantage. then throwing away that advise when it on longer serves him.

Of course that is just how I see it tonight, and I am in a bad mood so just ignore ny comments
tomorrow I will probably be all Kissie Kissie.

Hi.

When your new and starting out in this hobby, it takes quite a bit of time to learn how to be somewhat educated in it.

This forum offeres alot of insight and education to those of us lacking the skill and expertise. I sometimes ask opinions and
questions prior to buying or bidding on a coin, so as to get a feel for what others see in a particular piece.

While at this time I probably take more out of this forum than I contribute, but if I keep pursuing my education in it, someday I
hope to contribute more than I take from it.

As for habaraca, I'm sorry someoned pissed in your cornflakes tonight.

Thanks to all that have answered and assisted me throughout the past year.

Oh, and the bust quarter is awesome... I thought VF30, so I was excited others confirmed that.

I'll second that opinion--decent looking coin. Coin doesn't look totally original as the color is a bit off, but we are talking bust quarters. There may be some "theoretical" totally original bust quarters out there, though even with those some experts that will have doubts. Those "theoretical" coins tend to sell for Jupiter money, and a collector can never be sure about the old, old coins. Most that are for sale, have been messed with at some time. I wouldn't put this coin in the "Jupiter" category, so it sounds like it sold for a fair price, considering the off color.

As for asking, better to ask about a closed auction then a current auction. Competition is the last thing a would be bidder needs. Live and learn. The other side and the worst of the worst are those that ask about a coin, they currently have for sale or auction (aka Spammers).
