If You Could Change One Things About The Hobby, Ebay, Paypal, What Would It Be?

If you could change one thing about the hobby, eBay, Paypal, what would it be? For me it would be a toss up between eliminating fixed priced "auctions" or proxy bidding. You?

As a buyer, I cannot think of any real problems. Maybe the
card mfgs should stop producing so many different card
    sets.

As a seller, bestmatch and PayPal policies are really about the
only serious problems. BestMatch being the most damaging
    problem.

Sellers and Buyers should be "checked out" a little more carefully
before they are turned loose on the site.

Since I rarely buy from anybody I don't already know, bad sellers
are not a problem for me. But, bad buyers certainly are.

Just remove the scammers and slime from our hobby would be enough for me.

  • roll back ebay formats for selling, listing, etc. they have royally Effed things up in the last 2 years and it will only get worse. Their format loads longer and is unwieldy to use.

regarding the Hobby, I miss going to card shows every weekend. I miss cheap, affordable and FUN wax busts.

I wish kids would get into the hobby more instead of wasting time playing xbox live lol.

Return the hobby to little kids. Step 1: eliminate the turds that go into stores and weigh card packs.

    Eliminate the ridiculous fees

If using paypal via ebay, no fee is taken since they are mandating it

I think I would want to end the practice of ending auctions early when there are bids. If I take the time to bid, and pass on similar items, then the seller shouldn't be able to randomly stop an auction to avoid fees.

I had a high bid of $8800 on an auction that just ended early, the bid showed at $8200 with me as high bidder, no reserve. 3 days left, all of a sudden there was an error in the listing?

  • Half the scammers on eBay now are buyers claiming they didn't get a relatively inexpensive item and threatening to leave a negative if refund is not given. This wasn't as big a problem when sellers could leave a negative.

one of the worst things ebay did was let the buyers run rampant......no negative feedback for buyers???? another thing is the cost of auction fees.. ya know what...if ya gonna spend 5.00 on a card, what does it matter if its 4.00 and 1.00 or 1.00 and 4.00 for ths shipping??? i say F# ebay and pay them as little in fees as possible ??????? then paypal charges fees on postage as well??? I would offer shipping discounts on non paypal purchases.... I used to love the bay, no more...crappy sellers mis-representing junk and costs you money to return it???????? cannot wait for an alternative....how about this folks A 3 DAY BOYCOTT OF EBAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if we got the whole community of buyers and sellers to do this.. would they notice??????

I remember eBay store listing .01 each. Final value fee around 5%. Better sales also.

I would never allow a piece of memorabilia to be cut up for insertion into a trading card - ever.

I change eBay's feedback system for sure, allow both seller and buyer to leave feedback.

  • Free listing day!!!!!! 1 cent listing day!!!!!!!!!! .5 cent listing day!!!!!!!!!!

My question is how many high tier employees worked at ebay 6 yrs ago????

  • DSR RATING needs to go NOW...

August 2006 was when store listing fees went up 500% overnight (FU Meg). Roll back any time before that. eBay was best for me in 2003-early 2004.

I'm easy to please. I ask only for better scans of the cards on eBay. I don't mean the digital camera card pics, I'll never bid on those, I mean the 4 cards in one scan with no zoom and the single card scans that are too small to even remotely see the corners.

Get rid of the minimum $1 store price. I used to buy tons of cards for .27 or .37 from dealers trying to fill my sets. I would buy 40-50 cards from a dealer. Now at $1 each, it ain't happening. I'll just buy bigger lots and pick out what I need. This kills the low end store owner.

Absolutely agree. We have lost way too much by cutting up our history.

I would force players to learn to sign decent signatures instead of squiggly lines.

Feedback needs to go both ways on Ebay.

Since ew're talking change, I would like to have more of it so I can buy more cards. image
