1946 D/D Jefferson Nickel Diagnostic Needed!!! Please

I picked up a higher grade short set of jeffersons yesterday- I have a 46-d that obviously has something going on and I was wondering if there were diagnostics to the coin... Are there any good Jefferson Nickel Reference pages out there?

John, There are several different Jeff guides out there that show this, including the cherrypickers guide. There should be the round portion of a second "D" protruding to the left of the primary "D", between the serifs of the primary "D". You should be able to view a photo on the registry of one of these. Pics? Let us know what you have. Good luck!!! Shag

    John,
Yes, look at the Corso Colleciton in the Jefferson Registry Sets. He has a nice picture of the "D". I don't have a handy picture of mine to post. I hope it's the one!

  • If yours is a VLDS PCGS may not designate it. I had one like that and it had to end up going to ANACS to get the desig.
