The 1954 ball has Al Kaline as the main signature. So it sounds like it would be $100 to have the signatures authenticated plus an extra $20 because Kaline is the premier signer, for a total of $120. The ball would also be graded at no cost, a savings of $100. Sounds like a winner to me. >>
Now that I know who the premier signer is I can let you know that the authentication fee would be $150 (assuming there are 20 or more signatures on the piece) I was using $100 as an easy example.

If you are talking about autographed cards graded authentic, then you could send them in on regular card specials when they have them. In other words, once they are already authentic by PSA/DNA blue flips or red flips, you only pay the usual service level depending on declared value of the card as if its unsigned. So, if there is a special to grade 70's cards for $5, then you could send in all your 70's cards that have already been deemed authentic by red flips or blue flips, and only pay the $5.00 fee, not the full fee for autographed cards.
I just did this on a Mickey Mantle blue flipped PSA/DNA autographed rookie card that I wanted to change to a red flipped graded one. I didn't have to repay for autograph authentication, I only had to pay the normal card grading fee (same fee I would have paid if it was unsigned).
I think my above info is correct, but CarolJ can correct me if I'm wrong.
Perfect - I didn't realize that! I have some '33 Goudeys in blue flips that I'd love to have in red holders. I didn't realize "crossing" them was as easy as just sending them in for the normal grading fee. I'll just wait for a good special and get them all done.

You may want to look at this month's Collectors Club special then to see if what you have fits. The order would need to be post marked by Sat.

There seems to be some questions regarding the way the new Autograph Registry works and why we require the autographs to be graded.
It really is very simple...the only way you can distinguish between the quality of each set is to rank the quality of the autographs within a category.
The only way to rank the quality is to have them graded.
For example, you may have 50 people who all complete a 500 HR Club single-signed ball collection. If they are all complete and if we allowed people to register them without grades - we would have a 50-way tie.
That being said, we may - and I repeat, may - consider opening up the non-competitive section of the Registry called Collector's Showcase to non-graded autographs.
I do appreciate the feedback and, as the Registry evolves, we will be listening to suggestions from hobbyists.

I still don't understand why the blue flip authentic cards cant be put into the psa/dna set registry. I have no problem with the grading of the autographs, If that is what someone chooses to do. The red flipped authentic cards are allowed into the regular psa registry and I have yet to see a set that has anyone in a 50 way tie. Seems like it's just an attempt to get all those cards in blue flips sent back in and graded. Will the psa/dna set registry set composites be weighted ? or will a 87 topps autograph of bruce sutter graded a 10 be worth more to the set than a 1933 goudey ruth graded a 7 ????
Saw you unpinned this but wanted to bump a very informative thread.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

This is not a PSA special so PSA graders won't be looking at anything so anything sent on the PSA/DNA special would have no impact.
