I got mail from Heritage saying they will be auctioning the Joseph C. Thomas collection valued at 25 million dollars with no reserves.

Anyone heard of this collector or know anything about him?

Good question - I received the same mailing today, and was wondering the same thing. Some of the early date walkers pictured are finest known examples, I do know that!

What would you rather have, Yves Saint Laurent's chair or the entire Joseph C. Thomas coin collection?

I would take the coins too! Silly question. image
  • If you can afford a 25 million dollar chair, you wouldn't have to choose. You could have both. If someone was handing them out on a street corner, I guess I'd take the coins though.

Don't be so quick to take the coins. It's a helluva chair!

Is it this Joseph C. Thomas, perhaps?

No, that guy was more into grading dirt, not coins. image

He would also be about 90. Perhaps his son?
