Huh......this it the trick one.....

it may be the toning or the pic, but it actually looks like wear above the ear, and cottonballs, and parts of the hat....

no wear on the Rev, and a average strike there.........

Rim on rev is a lil mushy at 7-8 oclock...........

64 and ya feel robbed ?????

nice coin, the average strike for the issue will keep it from a 66, imo

The front maybe 65 but the reverse is no better than 64 so it grades 64.

Wow...big range of guesses on this one. I didn't dink it for the soft strike, though perhaps I should have. I just couldn't get away from the cleaness of the prime focal areas and what appeared to be way above average luster for the date. So I'll stick with my 66, won't be suprised with 65 but will be shocked @ 64. If it's a 64...I want all my 64's to look like that!

Cant prove it but I have better looking 64's than that. I cant believe anyone would grade that a 66. Oh well. I guess that is what makes a market. Maybe the strike biases my grade since I hate weak strikes.

I have to agree with you on that, if that is a 64, I'll buy them like that all day and night. Now, if it's au58, I'll buy 'em like that all day, night and weekend.

For those who graded this coin 58 or 64, PLEASE PLEASE sell me all your 58's and 64's.

I will pay full MS63 money for AU58's that look like this coin, and full 64 money for those who graded it 64.

Hmmmmm.......On the high points of the hair and cap, it sure looks like luster breaks from some very light rub. Without rotating the coin around this one is tough to grade. If the photo doesn't lie, then a PQ 58. If the photo is lying, then a 65.

This is one of the first slabbed silver dollars I purchased when I got back into coins about
10 years ago. Purchased at Long Beach and crossed from an old ANACS slab. A really gorgeous
coin in hand with beaming luster.

Thank god!. Some of the naysayers were beginning to dink my confidence. Nice coin. Might have been some 'micro grading' going on due to the large images.
