Just got this email from BBCE. Pretty nice gesture on their part.
<< <i>Bill -
Just wanted to let you know that all the packages are going out today (Post Office was closed yesterday) for the latest CU group rip. They will all be going via USPS except for the people who've added additional product, those will go via UPS. The 1981 and 1983 Fleer Baseball boxes each had (2) additional packs in the boxes as an incentive for the dealers back in the year of issue. I placed those packs randomly in the orders. I also grabbed a couple of 1984 Donruss, 1987 Fleer and 1987 Topps packs off the shelf and randomly inserted those into the orders. Thanks, Rick. >>
<< <i>wow that is super cool... I will give up hope on mine being delivered today... I am like 5 miles from them should be here tomorrow.. and rip a roo >>
Man, if there were 5 miles from me, I would be making a daily trip on the way home from work.
Awesome! Thanks for setting this up Bill. Gotta love the freebies - thanks Steve! I'm hoping they come tomorrow too, I'm not far from BBCE. We'll see...
I suspect mine will get here tommorrow. I ordered on Saturday with some other 80s stuff and live in TN.
** Working on the following sets-2013 Spectra Football Hall of Fame 50th Anniversary Autograph set, 2015 Spectra Football Illustrious Legends Autograph set, 2014-15 Hall of Fame Heroes autograph set. **
I have opened my fleer packs and got a Wade Boggs 1983 fleer rookie(second card in pack) and it is slightly OC top to bottom but should be a close 9 due to centering. The other packs had no star power but are clean as a whistle.
I have opened the topps as well and got a Tom Herr Rookie in the 80s, the 81s were all commons the 82 pack was blazing as far as centering and quality and pulled a Eddie Murray, Dave parker that could both 10 and a Steve Sax Rookie
83 and 84 all common players but again clean.
The O-Pee-Chee were both clean but full of commons.
I did pull an 85 Marty Barrett and that card sure does look like a Clemens rookie as you flipping through them.
Opening Donruss now.
never opened an 81 pack it went like 4 orioles, 5 As, etc.
the 82 pack had a yount, carew and murphy in it
83 had a fingers in it
85-Mattingly DK
86- commons
87-Strawberry and Sierra Rookie(was this a freebie pack)??
the best 40.00 I spent going down memory lane. I have alot more to bust so I am out for now
Thanks for putting the group rip together.

<< <i>Scan and post HERE like we always do!! No need to clutter the boards with numerous rip threads. >>
This was my first group rip, I started my own thread, my bad. I would post all the scans here, but besides a nice '84 Fleer Strawberry, I didn't get much. Good luck to everyone else!
The top / bottom on the Strawberry isn't 50/50, but it will fall in the 45/55 range hopefully. I'm at work and I don't have any of my measuring tools like I do at home.
The lower left edge has a little rough cut to it, but maybe they will treat it like opc and let it go. On the last group sub I sent 5 opc and all had a little roughness on the edges and they all got 10's, so maybe this one will too.
Just got home and will open my box up in a few minutes. I bought two lots, one to leave unopened and one to rip. I will be posting highlights from the ones I rip shortly.
No big hits and no possible 10's nothing worth submitting, but a really fun trip down memory lane. Here are the scans:
Ryan was the last card and has a wax stain on the back. It can probably be softly rubbed off, but then it also has that fisheye. Otherwise a cool card:
Too bad the Yount was OC:
Here are some casualties. Ozzie has a big stain on the surface. The Bench and Carlton have dents/dings in the side. My '83 Topps and '84 Fleer packs had most of the cards damaged in them. The Morgan and Stargell/Rose have pressure bends in them:
Received mine today and got one of the extra 81 Fleer packs. All in all I think I got spoiled. Here are a few highlights from my rip (which I thoroughly enjoyed, by the way).
The San Diego Chicken? Jackpot, baby!
Snicker, snicker. The guy in the bottom left has a funny name.
Two Hall of Famers and a Cheater
The Rickey is obviously O/C, but I didn't have one so I'm thrilled. The Rose and Boggs aren't too bad either.

If you tell them in advance you are coming they will let you pop in and pick up stuff
Great job Steve!!!
I'll have to watch for the next rip . I was a little late to get into this one.

Hey LSU, I got these from a box I recently tore thru
20, 163, 227, 293, and 381
all are sharp and decently centered.
PM your info and they yours!!
P.S. - I coulda sworn Jack Clark was a megastar/not a common?

Thought I was not going to get anything great until I hit the jackpot....
Probably a PSA 9 which will pay for the rip and then some.
I appreciate you all leaving the Henderson rookie for me. Much appreciated.
