The number I have isn't working which was in my cellphone directory.
Someone tried to access my buying account, now I can't get in/sign in.
Got the email notification, but I'm having problems.

Same thing happened to me last night...they locked me down...I called the Gold Power Seller's number and they sent me to live chat...the chat host (Rachel) worked her magic and I'm back on the bay.

odd.. same thing happened to me tonight for the first time ever, and i am extremely careful with my password and account info..

i got the email letting me know my account had been accessed and my password was changed..

i'm back to normal now though..

Last night in live chat they told me, from this point on, if a computer other than the one I'm currently using attempts to log into my account, they'll call me to confirm the access.

I'm kind of curious if my snipe program accessing my account is what tripped the alarm.

good luck on finding a real person who will help you. I tried calling in one time directly to their customer service and was told I had to back to live chat online. For fun ask them for a phone number to call while in live chat.

Same problem here - I cannot get anyone live on the phone to help me and the Live Chat will not work. I sent them an email - I can only imagine how long this will take to be resolved.

Same thing here. Some new program kicked in that detects when you place bids from a different computer. So if you have a laptop, home, work computer, or use a sniper program, it could trigger their system and get you booted off. When you call to get back on they tell you your account was accessed by somebody else(BS), they can't tell you any details(BS), and then give you a speech about how to protect your password and change your email(BS).

I had both a primary and secondary phone number on file. No attempt was made to call either one and the Ebay rep said they would not try to call in a situation like this because it was important to shut down the account as soon as possible. Luckily there was nothing up for sale and no snipes were missed.

My problem has been resolved 5 minutes ago.
Live chat worked like a charm, and the person/rep on there
was extremely helpful (I'm shocked!).

I can't believe a lot of us are having the same problems
with the so-called "compromised account" issue. I hope you all
get it resolved with no hassles as well.

Anyone have any idea why I can't get the live help window to come up? I've tried on two different browsers (chrome, IE7), but no dice.
In IE I get a pop up window to come up, but it's blank. In Chrome when I push the "get help now" button it just seems to reload the page.

Anyone?

I think it does have something to do with sniping because I had some

I went to the sign in page.

Hit the forgot password link

It asks you questions to reset your password, and then emails you.

Follow the email link to create your new password. Then I was back in.

Click the blue "I'm a guest" button...

On the next page click "I think someone used my account" (second from bottom of links list)

Then click the "chat with us" button that pops up on the right side...

Just fill out the information and live chat will hook you up...quick and painless.

I just checked my snipe service and my account locked out about 40 minutes
before the snipe was to go off?
I do believe this to be the problem but not sure why the time difference?
Maybe it was checking status of the auction price?
I too am curious to see if the snipe works now? Yeah idid remember to update my
snipe password too.
Just another reason to buy more

The same thing happened to me for thirst time ever last night alo...my account was locked and I never got an e-mail with a password reset...I called the toll free # on the list Storm posted but it did not give me an option for a live CSR...maybe because it was Sunday night? Anyway, I was able to chat with help and they reset me that way...now that I'm hearing from all you guys, I'm wondering if someone infiltrated ebay's system last night, or what?

Does this mean now that using a snipe service like just snipe will cause your ebay account to be BLOCKED??? What's the deal with that?

I did exactly what Ross said 4 post above me, and it worked like a charm.
Since you can't sign in, you have to sign in "as guest".
"Chat with us" is the same as Live Chat. A rep talks to you through typing.

I called the toll free numbers that Storm posted, but they're automated
and directs you to the Live Chat. You can't get a human. I almost called
the account specialist that was in Utah, the toll # that was on the bottom
of that list, but decided to try Live Chat first and utilize the proper channels
before resorting to something else.

The "forgot my password" didn't work for me as it may have for others.....
For me, if I wanted a new PW, it asked me for my old PW first, which is stupid since the old PW
was no longer valid so that was out. BTW, the 800-701-3229 no longer works from that list.

When using an EBAY/PayPal phone-line that employs voice-activated
features, you can usually get a live person by repeatedly saying

"AGENT"

or

"OPERATOR"

I can't get mine resolved either - as the pop window goes nowhere! I am quickly losing patience with EBay over this ridiculous circumstance.

(I could have missed it, but I don't think so.)

If folks email her about the problem, she will check into it and

I finally got it to work in IE7. I used the method that Ross explained above. It took me several tries to login as a guest, but after that hurdle everything was smooth.
Something did open up that wanted me to install Quicktime???

I'm up and running once again. Shortly after I posted to the thread, I ended up calling a number that was not listed in this thread and got a hold of a real live person!! Imagine that!

Yeah that number was the only one that was helpful. The other two, were totally useless if you could not login. The bot kept telling me to sign into www.ebay blablabla....which I could not do lol
