    "nickels is correct"
    -----

Which just goes to prove that humor
doesn't always come through on the
    printed page.

    On occasion.

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I like all major varieties of error buffalos.
I also like the album full I got out of circulation in 1955.
5 of the 1913s are XF or better. I keep them as is because
I'm sentimental about them. Same with Walkers.
I had to buy the errors.

I like both nickel nickels and silver nickels!

1913-S Type 1 nickel, 2 feathers and No F, Rarity 6. Now in the collection of a Buffalo nickel collector.

1800 Half Dime, LM-4, Rarity 7, probably finest known of this variety. Now in the collection of a Early half dime collector.

I like nickels, however you spell the word. My hoard is going to be fun for someone one day.

Unfortunately, I can't post any pictures... and can't see any either.

I was gonna' post a picture, but it appears that Goldberg's no longer has previous catalogues on their website. Lot 136 from their 11/14/08 sale was THEORETICALLY the first nickel that landed on the Moon, during the 2/71 flight of Apollo 14. It is a 1906 (?) Liberty in ~G4 condition. There was not enough provenance proof for me to be willing to take the financial plunge on it (the original owner of it certainly would have had plenty of contact with the astronauts, but there is no paperwork from any of the Apollo 14 crew verifying that the coin had flown on the flight). The estimate was $5,000 - $7,000, but it did not sell. I suspect that the other potential bidders also were wondering about the provenance trail.
