I bought this fake guinea knowing full well that it was fake and didn't pay much. My question is why would this be made? Was it used as a counter or was it made to dupe someone? T

Most were made from brass. I don't think yours was made to fool others as the legends are wrong. Your's says "The Olden times",
I've seen ones that say "The Good Old Days" etc..
