You didn't happen to notice that the Topps David Price card is an error did you? The back states that he is a right hander. I haven't seen anything about this anywhere yet, but it might be a nice sleeper card if it is corrected and he has a big year.

you have to hold the card up to a mirror to see the ball in the catchers glove - it's there, trust me

How are the Topps vintage variations selling? Is it going to be a hard subset to compile?

Does anyone know the provenence of these 'letterman' letters? If the card company just sewed a letter on a piece of felt, and stuck it into the card, then this has to- by an exceptionally large margin-- the lamest sports-related collectible ever produced.

That is the case. They are not game used letters. And I don't think it's as lame as a lot of the cards out there. I am doing a Campanella collection and I think I'm going to get all of the letters to spell out "Campy" for my display. I think it'll look great!

The patch collection thing isn't GU, its just a low numbered serial card. It spells out whatever it says on the card, for instance Mantle's spells Commerce Commet, not Mantle.

I got an "O" of Barack for Commander in Chief.

Does anyone else notice that Mantle base has him as a SS. Is it just me or was he an outfielder his entire career. According to retrosheet Mantle played 7 games at short. Did he come up as something other than an outfielder or I am just over thinking this and its an error?

Maybe the picture is of him playing short and that's what they decided to put down? Maybe it's a variation and there is one of him in the outfield.

Since reading this, I've checked the back of every Price card I've pulled and they all say Left. You got a scan of one that says Right?
