Those buy prices look like they are from weeks ago. Even at FUN dealers were offering to buy MS65 Saints at $1600 each. Please ship me all the 64-65 saints you have at those prices. The CAC premiums are essentially gone on the 63's and 64's. The premiums on the 65's have shrunk considerably but I think market makers are paying $1950 for CAC 65 Saints. And considering that maybe 1 out of 10 to 20 MS65 Saints make the CAC standard, they are a bargain for only a $50-$100 premium, at least at these levels.
I really disagree... I am not even going to continue the discussion at this point.
Read Fekete, he has some interesting thoughts on that subject. Bottom line is that 20 years of "something" got us here. And artificially low interest rates seem like a pretty good anchoring point to start.
I think alot of investors are parking money in gold as a safe haven to wait out the storm. The current economic cyclone is looking to be longer and more devastating than anyone could have imagined even just six months ago. I think the real question is how much longer is the credit crunch going to divert investors away from traditional markets.
Also, there's a certain amount of devaluation going on. I'm looking at home prices and some of the units have devalued as much as $10k in just the last month... so instead of buying, I'm going to look to see some sign that the bottom is near. I wonder if stock investors and fund managers are doing the same thing and parking money in PMs in the meantime.
