POLL: I dont want my UHR anymore, should I.....

I ordered myself one of these guys to keep, but I think I've changed my mind. I am fast falling out of love with dimensions of the coin, and can't get over the small diameter. I may change my mind later down the road, but for now I think I'd rather put the 1200 bucks toward replacing the IHC's in my dansco, or even a new bust dollar.

If you were me, which of the above would you do?

I would prefer the gold UHR, copper is too finicky for my taste.

  • Clearly, there is profit that can be made. I would advise against canceling your order.

    So, either:
    a) Put the confirmed order on eBay
    b) wait until it shows, then put it on eBay.

Was it the Mint's new 7 day return policy that caused the consternation? If you ordered it at the original price you should be OK as many here would be happy to take it off your hands for what you paid for it.

Not the return policy - I just finally got a chance to see one in person and can't get over the small diameter. It makes the overall coin not as pretty as I expected. Not 1200 pretty anyway.

The size was one of the things that didn't impress me either. I wonder how many will become damaged due to their softness, as most folks aren't used to handling them. I can tell you from experience that one drop on a less than plush carpet and there will be a noticeable dent in them. I bet we will see in the future more than one sadly up for sale on ebay with this problem.

Sell it on ebay or the BST. Not much additional effort to make at least $100, possibly $200+
  • I will give you $100 plus the $1200 plus registered mail shipping costs to me. PM me if you are interested.

If I were you, I'd flip a coin. You have a 50/50 chance of calling it right.
  • wait until coin shows up, you might just love it and decide to keep itimage

I kind of like the idea of buying one with nicks or flat spots off ebay for cheap. THEN it becomes the pocket piece and I wont worry about it. In about five years slab it as a VF25. I think for the sheer fun of it, it would be more fun to have this thing in the pocket than the safe depost box. but Id probably have a mint boxed one in there too.

Just like others have said, there's really no reason NOT to flip this one
since it is in high demand....at least until they fulfill the first 40,000 orders or so.

I would probably say BST first since you won't have to pay killer fees!

    Good luck!
