I did a little research last night in the set registeries to see if any of the other player master sets had as many variation as Murph does. As of right now Murph is in the lead with about 20 different variations on his master player set. I have two raw variations that were not listed also.
Does anyone know how many D. Murph variations there was in the 88 topps stickers?

I'm not sure, I've busted many, many boxes of '88 Stickers and I would guess that Murphy and Schmidt have the most variations. I know there are at least eight variations with Murphy on the 'back' (i.e., not the sticker side), and who knows how many more with him on the front.
He's just now starting to stockpile some talent at Bama. Last year, we had no depth at all and played a ton of freshman.
Two more years like the last two, Alabama will be something else.
I believe that who ever wins the SEC will be playing for a national championship again next year. Actually, I believe that the national championship will be played in Atlanta when the SEC west and SEC east meet.

Out of the 4 sites that judge class rankings, LSU was #1 on two of them and #'s 2 and 3 on the other two. That eliminates Nick as the #1 recruiter this year. Have a nice day. Saban sucks.

I think you can. I recently had a bunch of these graded with the sticker side on top of the slab, and I wanted them slabbed with the back face-up. So I sent them back to PSA as mechanical errors and they re-slabbed them (actually, I don't know if they re-slabbed them, since I haven't opened the box yet. But I'm assuming they did).
My recommendation would be to put a post-it on the Card Saver saying 'please slab this card with this side face up', or something to that effect. I think that should do it.

You just got unlucky, Marc. Schmidt, Murphy and Mattingly all have a bunch, but some of the other players, like Brett, have as few as three or four.
Am I correct in my thinking here; 1) OPC has an identical # of variations and 2) Les Miles is a habitual puppy kicker

OPC is not identical...I think there are half the number for Mike Schmidt. Most notably, there are significantly fewer examples with different sticker backs for card #8, but there are other examples that don't exist. (#4 Tom Herr with a Mike Schmidt sticker back?)

Question
If I have a 88 topps sticker with dale murphy stickercard on the back, on the front is a dual sticker with hubie brooks and don mattingly. The front sticker is centered 75/25, however the reverse, Dale Murphy on the reverse is 50/50.
If I were to attach a note that I would like to have this card flipped and have the Murphy facing toward the front, would it be considered to be the front and therefore be the side that is judged under the 55/45 standard?
There is no rhyme or reason, and no way that you can consistently expect to be treated the same way by our friendly colleagues at PSA.
I've probably graded 300-500 of these (from '88 to '90, Topps and OPC) and I still can't pre-grade them. I can hit 40% PSA 10's on most modern, but 20% on these is about my average. Sometimes they pay attention to the back, sometimes they don't... if you're planning on sending off a bunch of these for grading be prepared to get back some fairly exotic results.
So far as I know, PSA's default policy is to put the back of the card (i.e., the side that says 'superstar') on the front of the slab. But not all will come back that way. If you find a way to ensure that all of your stickers are slabbed the same way please PM me and let me know the secret.
