1972 O-Pee-Chee Baseball Rip
Hi.
I was bored in these wee hours of the morning. Bought this pack about 3 and a half years ago for about 31 bucks (thats what my payment records show). I figured what the heck no harm no foul - I would slice up the GAI pack and see what happens.
Here is the slideshow - to show pre pack, after pack and the cards - the ok and the ugly.
1972 OPC Rip - Photobucket SlideShow
You will see that Reggie (IA) was the collateral damage - BIG TIME. The Roy White has the upper right nicked since it was the outside card. The Torre has stainage on the right border.
I suck at taking pictures , so I apologize for that. The corners on the cards are better than they appear in the pictures. Nothing exceptional here, but thats cool - I am fine with the results. It was killing me wondering what was inside - and was worth the 3.5 years and 30 bucks.
The other thing I noticed. The slabbed label had this as 2nd series. Maybe OPC had a different numbering scheme for their series and release more at one time ? - I am not even going to claim I know this answer - but all the cards in here would have been from series 3 and series 4 in the regular topps issue. Again I dont have the foggiest idea, if it was just a mistake in labeling or what - doesnt matter I guess.
Hope you enjoy em.
