NEWP SLQ With Cud and Strikethrough - Better pics (kinda)
It arrived today. I bought this from Steve @ SLQ Coins. It's a small S, 1928-S NGC MS64. On the reverse it has a die cud just to the SW of the "E" in "Quarter" also, and this is what I like about it, is a strikethrough on the reverse right around 11:00.
This particular cud is one I've only found so far on a couple of megadipped circ pieces, I don't normally like Unc coins, but this one I do
Pics stolen from SLQ's website but hosted elsewhere. Whatcha think?

Looks like it's "Struggle with camera" time again. arrgh...
<< <i>Mmm, I'm not seeing the cud. The "strike-thru" appears to be a minor lamination. Then again, hard to tell from those pics. Glad you're happy though! >>
I don't see the interior cud... and the strike through at 11 o'clock on the reverse is a lamination.

That's the strikethrough. It's not a lamination, it looks like it was struck through a piece of wire.
That's the cud. A very small cud just on the lower left corner of the "E" in "QUARTER"
If anyone has the Knauss book it's on page 256-257
I just was comparing this coin to the SLQs that I have with laminations, granted that's only 4 of them, and only 2 have straight ones, but on the ones that I have with laminations, the laminations are jagged, they appear to be creacked metal, etc.
On this coin, what appears to be a lamination is dished and smooth, the depression is semicircular and the metal on the edges of it is raised in spots. THis coin shows no flaking or roughness inside the depression at all, it's smooth and looks like, well, it looks like one of those skateboard park half-pipes on the surface of the coin if that makes any sense.
<< <i>I suck at pics... don't say you weren't warned!
So do I get a "You suck" award?

After seeing your pics your best practice on one of these before looking for any sort of award!
Can you tell the details any better or do I need to spend another 10 mins futzing w/ Camera and Loupe?
<< <i>So do I get a "You suck" award?
No, but your camera does!
