Doubled 18 in date. 1 shows a curved vertical spike at top left and short horizontal spike to left of bottom crossbar. First 8 lower loop is slightly doubled on left outside and strongly doubled on right outside. Entire Liberty head is covered with dots from a pitted die.
Edge– Reeding on edge is overlapping for about 8 segments at 7 o’clock. Slight doubling of reeding at 9 o’clock.
The 1884-O VAM-4 was originally attributed by Leroy Van Allen as having a doubled 18 in the date and the whole obverse of Liberty's head covered with dots of metal from a pitted die. A revision to the attribution identifies there is overlapping reeding on the coin's edge for about 8 segments at about the 7 o'clock position.

It's addicting.
VAM 4 should not be confused, however, with its two vastly more rare (R7) cousins, VAMs 4B and 4C, which display overlapping reeding. Likewise, though, neither of these VAMs is part of the Top 100, Hot 50, or Hit List 40 so collector interest, demand, and premium values are limited to the relatively few specialists that care.
