Seems to be a fair amount of unevenness about the surfaces on the obverse - porosity, perhaps? And I'm afraid that I detect the beginning of some corrosion at 6:00 near the rim on the reverse.

I suspect that this is one of those coins that looks better in hand than blown up this large.

    Cleaned and retoned.

VG maybe F obverse, VF reverse.

Too bad, I'm actually trying to buy one of these in MS64 or MS65 right now. Tough to find.

There is definitely something going on with the obverse on this coin.

Smoothed or puttied obverse, some pitting. I cannot in good faith give that coin a grade, and I certainly cannot offer you a sticker. image

Corroded and cleaned. It has a very unnatural color. I'd pass on it.

Forgive my french, but my photo skills for lack of a better word, suck...
Again the coin is much darker in hand, learned a good lesson today.

Wouldn't such a coin appear more orange, the color of copper? Dark red-brown copper has always been difficult to photograph. The picture is more flooded with light than photoshop contrast.

check the edge of the coin
if it has a seam, its a cast copy, or could be an electrotype counterfiet with that edge seam
