ANGS TPGS

Does anyone have information on ANGS or what the acronym means? I found an ebay seller who several of these listed which leads me to believe ANGS is still in business or he is the owner. Any information would be helpful so I can post it on my website.

Check out their user id.

Like a 1000 yard shot with a .22 long rifle and not even a good one from Winchester, but one of those little Savage Arms bolt action jobs.

So BSGS grades another junk silver dollar, this time only a 63? Suggest try crossing it to SGS, see if they will let it go 64...

  • It goes to show that they are either ignorant of coin grading or think most coin collectors are ignorant. I doubt they are ignorant since they sell NGC also. It should be obvious that the ANGS grading is far inferior.

I love the irregularly spaced line of lower case "L"s masquerading as a bar code.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • There has to be more we can do to prevent people from being ripped off. I started a webpage on this, a blog, an ebay group and a TPGS forum to inform coin collectors. These type ebay auctions are bad for the hobby, and now is not the time for collectors to be losing out on their hard earned money. I got over 37,000 page views on my website in the last 30 days, but it's not enough.

I'm affraid spammers have ruined legitimate and sencere website owners from promoting their sites without spending tons of money. I appreciate all the help and visits from members on this site. If anyone has ideas, let me know. I guess I will have to advertise in Coin World and Numismatic News, and maybe I can get Bowers to let me place an ad in his Red Books.

    I will continue trying!

I couldn't see the pics until I put sunglasses on. Looks like a 69 to me...cross that one over in a sec...WOW the nerve of some people. Are there people that actually fall for that?

I call that a fifty foot coin, looks good from fifty feet...maybe a hundred.

I'm going to start my own grading company like this. Except with coins like this I won't put a grade on the slab just a statement. "Harshly Cleaned P.O.S."

  • ANGSNo information on this grading service. It's obvious the above coin has been cleaned and isn't even close to have MS63 details, let alone a mint state designation.Any TPGS without a website, address, phone number or email are usually "self-slabbers" who grade their own coins, sell them, and don't accept submissions from the general public. These companies are not recommended unless one can tell, first-hand, that the coin is authentic, problem free (not cleaned or damaged), and graded appropriately. If you have any information on this company send an email to help@coinauctionshelp.com

I love the irregularly spaced line of lower case "L"s masquerading as a bar code.

And each slab has the same "barcode"...
  • It appears to be a self-slabber. Here's a link to a list of known TPGs and comments on their reliability/reputation. ANGS is listed and has no webpage or contact info ... a self-slabber. image

the fake barcode made with lower case Ls is freakin' hilarious. Why not use a Free Barcode Generator Web Page to create a real barcode.
