Where are there lower taxes and nicer weather ?

My thinking is, would PCGS be a good stock to have? If they sale it.
And has PCGS thought of this ? Im sure they have. What would that do to my Coins?

How many founders did PCGS have?
I think I've read about a dozen bios with credits to being a PCGS founder.

Maybe the question should be, "where would David Hall be if not for PCGS?"

PCGS probably would be close to where it is without him, as there were others that were involved with it's founding. But he is the man that took the helm and brought it, and took responsibility for it to be the #1 TPG coin service that we all love and enjoy. (and unfortunately, sometimes take for granted). In my book, the man will always have his place high in numismatic history!

there was before David, it was called ANACS photo certificates.

There were some people who were making markets in them in the very early 80's

    Hard to say.

I respect DH and what he has done. If he were not there, someone else would be in his place. Maybe they would have done more or better. Maybe they would have done less or worse.

The Man IS a Living Legend!

Sometimes the Best ideas are born of Necessity yet once initiated
people often ask, "Why didn't I think of that?"

David had been into coins for quite a number of years and built/ earned a great reputation. By then he had honed his skills, introduced Technical Grading as opposed to Commercial Grading and became the peoples' champion against less than ethical dealers everywhere that preyed upon peoples' lack of knowledge. Because of him We ALL are better numismatists and collectors.

Had David not taken those first BOLD steps, perhaps someone eventually would have - then again - maybe not! His contribution to the Numismatic Community speaks for itself. For the most part, I believe that he has done an outstanding job. He MUST remember that HE & his employees provide a SERVICE and like any SERVICE, to stay in Business he MUST offer a credible service and perform it well. For the most part I believe he has done so.

Without David Hall, PCGS as we know it, probably never would have been born.

    Just my 2 cents worth!

David is a driven guy though and his active promotion (and inspiration to competitors) has a lot to do with the success of PCGS and third party grading market acceptance IMO. Albanese and him made it through the filter when the market crapped out. Guys like Hager didn't. Bowers, with Hallmark, probably could have given them a run for the money if a lot of effort was put into it. Thought Paramount could have lasted and been aplayer at least for a while too.

    ANACS began in 1972

Accugrade invented the slab, and PCGS licensed the patent

PCGS does not use technical grading.

Hall's genius is his marketing skills.
