Mark the promoter runs a nice show and this show has been taking place 4 x per year for years and years.....
There are 2 spaces available at the county center... like an elevator sometimes we are up and sometimes the show is held downstairs.... the downstairs is where we are this time around which is a little more cozy....
I guess with the fact that FUN was just past and Long Beach is soon some of the bigger players just did not stop in this time around... or perhaps because of the economy....
for us its good to be back on the road..... if you had not heard several weeks ago on the day I was to leave for fun I suffered a bad slip on a patch of ice and spent the week laid up.... for me to miss a show it has to be pretty bad....and it was....but Im feeling much better and its back to work... so for me Im having a good time at WESPNEX
Usually Fri is more dealer to dealer day, but either I was looking to make a good deal or I just had a good Karma so sales for me were pretty good... I would hope today would be even better.....
Some dealers had a nice start.... one sold about 15k worth of gold right off the bat... gold taking a nice spike certainly helped put people into a buying frenzy...reminded me of that scene from the Jaws movie where the sharks are circling...LOL
I would say people are buying but buying with either caution or less expensive items..... well we can post a little more tonight perhaps...hope to see you there...
For the Young Adults there is a nice YN program... Larry Gentile is still in the hospital but 2 of his former YN's Will and Chris will be taking over the program and they do a great job!
I better get paid overtime.

is of value to the rest of us who could not make the show.
Camelot
still selling quite a number of 2009 silver eagles...probably the biggest seller of the show...gee what a surprize
interesting to see that quite a number of people are active both buying selling bullion gold... I would say that was the 2nd biggest seller
3 up on the list would be cheap items..... everything from circ morgans to loose little coins you know things like the 3 for a buck foreign, $1 indian head common dates, wheatie rolls... stuff like that....
still we sold a number of slabbed coins, which most dealers seemed to be saying have really slowed down to a trickle..... I think Long Beach will be quite interesting to see how the market is heading but of course dealers are certainly pulling back from just buying the more expensive coins that they are offered unless they are either heavily discounted or they have a customer that they know they can flip them to... one fellow showed several high valued morgans and was unable to get any offers from any of the dealers....sounds too me like a reality check is needed by the seller ....prices that the coins were worth...just are not out there in todays marketplace..... either take your lumps and move on or put that back in the vault for a few years....
till next show! Happy Trails
Very on target observations.
I was at the show yesterday and noticed large buying of inexpensive coins. It seems that many collectors have stepped up their purchases of $1 to $50 coins including silver american eagles and in a pretty big way. It was quite noticeable. In fact, the recent economic downturn may in fact, lead to a new boom in such part of the hobby.
