Best way to image coins

Ok, I have a Digital Nikon D40 camera here at home. I have no professional set up as far as a place to light and place coins for imagining. What would you experts tell us "do-it-yourseflers" about taking pics of our coins at home? I have a STUNNING 1875 German 1 Mark (Labeled MS-64 from my coin dealer) that I am DYING to image and show to you guys.
