2009 official Half Cent Post em if you got em thread

We are nearing the end of the first month of 2009 and not a single show and tell thread on half cents.

Well I will get the ball rolling then. This last year I was able to catch the tail end of a Baltimore show on the way home from a business trip over to the east coast. My time was spent looking for half cents but in particular, an 1857 to complete the braided series. Harry Labstain had a lovely example and managed to bring it home with me thereby completing the braided series in unc.

Decided last night it was high time photograph the 1857 and ended up photographing the rest.

marmac, for some reason that 1853 is catching my eye, although they're all sweet. I wish I had one to show; it's one of the last 5 coins I need for my type set and I hope to find the right one this year.

the 56 does have a bit of a rim clip.

the 53- If memory serves me, this ismy ex-Coxe Coin (board member), he had some beautiful half cents but alas, they went to auction. I managed to snag one.

Heres one Ive had since about age 14. Bought with 'lawn mowing money', which was REAL money. $3 to mow a huge double lot. (in the summer)

I read a thread the other day regarding someone being told to quit collecting, something to the effect their pockets werent deep enough.....thats plain silly. There a re certainly cheaper series than half cents, but many a collector with a bit of patience can put together a lovely low grade set of these charming little coins. Personally, I've never met a half cent that didnt have a bit of charm to it,....

nice examples by all so far.
