What's up with this Peace? Oldest one I've ever seen!....

Lost the numeral one in the date and the L in Liberty. However there is no thinning or wear on the rim.
There is a small rim bump under the date but that would not account for the problem. It feels and looks
absolutely average pocket carried silver. Lots of wear but what caused this? If it's a mint problem would
there be any premium?

Grease-filled die.

Qualifies as a legit error, IMHO, but would carry a minimal premium, if any, on a coin this worn.

Very cool. You aren't seeing it in the guides, because that date is BCE. (You realize the Egyptians used the future Roman calendars and predicted year 1.) It was minted in Thebes to honor the ascent to the throne of Osorkon upon the death of his father, Shoshenq.

What you have here is an IBERT

Jacques FranÃ§ois Antoine Ibert, a French composer of classical music. As a matter of fact, he wrote the score for the Adventures of Don Quixote.

The Bulgarians captured Hadrianople in the Eastern Roman Empire in 922 AD. They issued the Peace dollar in that year as a propaganda stunt to fool the Byzantines into thinking they were going to go home to Bulgaria and play accordion music. (The reverse design originally had the eagle holding an accordion in its talons. That was changed when the engraver realized that eagles played the bagpipes, not accordions.) Instead of leaving, the Bulgarians captured more cities and took over the McDonald’s franchises. New fast food managers substituted horse burgers for the sliced tofu previously served.

“Iberty” was the name of the first horse converted into Big Macs.

"Ibert" was a French composer.
"Iberty" was the horse.
I doubt "Ibert" would have made a good burger, although he was a pretty good late romantic composer.

Edited after someone said just wear: I don't know enough re Peace Dollars. Morgans are my bag. Looked like struck thru grease, but that lowball set shows otherwise!

The Emperor Basil II (Bulgaroktonus) did not invent Photoshop until 991 AD, so it must be a Chinese fake.
