I was just watching msnbc and I see gold is up to $900... What gives? Is this the big move over to over $1000 now? Opinions......

just hope the Mint doesn't get the big idea to cancel all UHR orders and reprice.....

What? You thought that there could be a thread on the first page without an UHR mentioned? image

Record highs if it goes through $925. I am glad I hold a fair amount; but, this is not the kind of thing you wish for.

Now that the floodgates have been open to unchecked spending, you can probably expect gold to go much higher. I have seen predictions in the $2500 plus range.

Gold is at record highs right now against the euro and pound. I expect there is a lot of excitement in europe. Flight to quality.

Yes, the mint will be repricing. --Jerry

Speaking of the UHR. A big spike in physical offtake and price would definitely limit the mintage either through un-affordability, or lack of blanks. image this could get interesting.

Peter Schiff says $2000 gold by late this year. And it will go up from there.

    Why would the mint reprice???

They made a commitment to sell and got the orders. They should have bought based on that. Yes I know it's the mint, but if I sold bullion at a fixed price and then raised the price the next day, I'd have no customers.

I would think they have some legal implications as well.

I don't think they will reprice already placed orders but their press release says they will reprice weekly depending on the price of gold. So next week the price will likely be higher.

I believe they already have a large shipment of blank planchets so I expect that increase in prices would just be a windfall profit for them and probably wouldn't affect mintages much at all. --jerry

All the talking head keep waiting for the market to recover. Balancing the budjet has become put off because of "deflation" threats. I don't hear any of them talk about the debasing of the currency. Nobody talks about what happenned in the Weimar Republic before World War 2. For those of you who didnt hear, they used wheel barrows to carry all the Marks they needed to buy groceries...... anybody think we are headed there?

The odds of that happening are higher now than in the last number of decades. Stay tuned.

With U.S. currency backed only by the "good will of the United States of America", there is no telling
how high gold and silver will go.
    I think $1250+ and $30+.

    You are all wrong...

Because, I just traded some of my CC Morgans for an assortment on PM's.

Within three months gold will be at $500 and silver $8.
