so I bought 3 rolls of circ. War nickels and what do I find...

I was not only surprised to find it, but semi-shocked that it's still so distinctive at such a low grade. My guess is it's an AG03 -- a far, far cry from the MS66 in my set.
When in doubt, don't.

    Ah, so that's what to look for on this overdate, have to check all mine again.

    There is another variety that has a very similar notch that is not a 3/2.

    .........i think he is referencing one variety that has a short die gouge that extends upward from the lower ball of the 3. it is often mistaken for the 'overdate'image
