so I bought 3 rolls of circ. War nickels and what do I find...
One of these:


I was not only surprised to find it, but semi-shocked that it's still so distinctive at such a low grade. My guess is it's an AG03 -- a far, far cry from the MS66 in my set.

Ah, so that's what to look for on this overdate, have to check all mine again.

.........i think he is referencing one variety that has a short die gouge that extends upward from the lower ball of the 3. it is often mistaken for the 'overdate'
can you see liberty and in god we trust? there should be doubling there.
