It seems like many people's MSN cashbacks are suddenly "failing"

My latest transfer indicated "Failed" ... "but we will keep """trying""" (1- how hard do you have to 'try' to transfer money, 2- there is no try, either do it or don't). After looking around, it appears I'm not alone.

Well not totally...I've received about $1000 before this, (but they do have a thing in their terms that they can take it back if or when they feel like it, and your Paypal account will be in the negative unless you replace it)

My last one was a problem. It was 2 weeks late and I contacted them. Some how my preferences to be paid had changed and a paper check was added, in addition to getting paid by paypal. The payment failed. I went in and changed it to being paid by paypal only and the next time the money came through. Hope this helps.

I just had one post in the last hour. It was due today, I checked about 8:45ish, and nothing, was still 'pending' with '0' days to go. I just went to send money, and it was in my Paypal acct. I hope the next 4, all due within the next 7 days, go as smoothly. Early on, I believe you actually had to 'claim' it on 'Live.com', but I could be wrong. The only time I remember it automatically posting (besides tonite) was the one transaction where it got immediately posted as soon as I paid for the item.
I'll come up with something, eventually.

You DO realize that they are normally pending for 60 days right?
Unless you get the instant cashback by chance.

My 60 days is next Tuesday, and that's what it shows when I log in.

I haved 2 rewards to be paid to me.
    1 I had to request.
The other was going to be 'automatically' paid to my PP account.
The one I had to request went in no problem.
The one where it was going to be sutomatically deposited has "FAILED" 3 time now!

I'm at 67 days now for a eBay purchase that was made on November 16. The automated payment was due on 1/15, and is drifting around in cyberspace now for a week. Another payment is due on 1/31. I'm not exactly confident it will arrive either.

Sign into cashback account. Go to settings. Then click on reward methods. Make sure you are set for paypal only and not bank account or paper check. Some how paper check was also activated on mine and caused the Failure. When mine was reset to Paypal only they repaid me and it went through. You will have to contact them for the repay.

Not the problem, the only method I have is paypal. It all began with their new automatic payment and that is suppose to automatically deposit into the paypal account that the item was paid from.

I just checked mine and my account was also set to pay me through "paper check." How did that happen? I took that off and added my paypal account as the only payment method. I'm set to receive cashback in about a week. I hope it goes through. Thanks for the heads up!

I don`t know how it changed to paper check. I know I never touched mine but somehow it changed. This was my problem so I hope it helps some people. It took me about 3-4 weeks to get everything straightened out. In the end I did get my cashback money.

I've received 11 out of my 12 with no problems (over $1200), although I've always had to go to LiveSearch and claim each one. My final cashback payment is maturing in 2 days - we'll see if it goes automatically to my Paypal or if I have to claim it again...

If it's been 3 to 4 weeks yours was a different problem. 3 to 4 weeks ago all payments needed to be requested. I know this because my last requested rebate was only about a week ago and it was received without a problem. My current is the first automatic and I have the problem. My next is in 2 days and I suspect I'll have the same problem with that one. Microsoft can't fix a glitch ?, give me a break. Everything was working so nicely. Did they ever hear the old saying " If it ain't broke don't fix it"

My one that "FAILED" on the 15th is still failed. I have received some after, with no problem and some more to go.(Did not "fool around" on that last 30% deal image )...Had some take 14 days. It says in the "contact" them section,if have not received in 14 days......So I will give them the full 14 before any inquire.

I just followed mommam17's suggestion, and found the same problem. Somehow, when Live Search Cashback went to the automated payment format, it seems that members account payment methods got defaulted from Paypal address to "paper check" method, which eBay won't allow, since all eBay transactions now must go thru Paypal. The bright bulbs at MicroSuck don't seem to have figured out that the issue of failed payments would be resolved if they just notified members that they need to manually reset their Live Search Cashback method of payment to include their Paypal email address.image

Got my last (and final) rebate on SUnday morning. No 7 to 10 day wait - it was paid into my account immediately. This is the first one that was done this way - for all the rest I had to wait the 60 days, then request the payment on Live Search, then wait the 7 to 10 days for it to get into my Paypal account. Of course, I immediately requested a transfer of all funds into my bank account.

Then today I get an email from Live Search cashback saying "your payment is on its way. You may have to wait 3 days..." I'm hoping they send me a second payment!!!

The way I understand this (after doing some reading) is that the money is given to ebay by MSN immediately.

Like PayPal, eBay holds the money and then doles it out.

I got on this thing late and only have one coming to me & it's like this.

Ebay has money that belongs to me.

If they don't pay me, maybe I won't pay them!

    Sounds fair enough, right!

Thanks for the info. I just checked mine (60 days is up today). Still nothing, but I noticed two things...1. I had the paper check option selected as well, with no paypal info and 2. my contact email was the one I created at live.com which I don't use.

As soon as I updated this info I got this message displayed next to my cashback..."Your cashback reward will be deposited or sent in 0 days. You won't need to request it."

    thanks image

I'm now at 12 days past the award date with nothing but an inbox full of BS emails from Cashback customer "support". I asked them last night why they did not just send a paper check, when they have my snail mail address which was given at the time of sign up. The line about a technical problem with auto deposits to Paypal has long been discounted hereimage

Well, after waiting 72 hours, I replied to the email they sent me, as instructed. The first thing I noticed when I hit "Reply" is their email address disappears. Hum, now that is a little strange. So, I copy the address and proceed to tell them about my 5 failed deposits, including dates and dollar amounts and the fact that I have received deposits both before and after (including yesterday) the failed deposits.

    Here is their response:

"Thank you for contacting Live Search cashback Support!

I am sorry for any inconvenience you have experienced with your cashback payment. I am going to send your issue to our accounting department where they will do a thorough investigation. We will forward any information that we receive about your payment status as soon as it becomes available. Thank you for your understanding and continued patience.

I guess their cash back program works about as good as their software.
