Man I keep stareing at this thing and I would love to get in on it. My wife just told me that I can'd spend another dollar on cards untill next monthimage . If it wasn't for here I would be all over this one too. We are having a baby girl in June and she says my prioritys are in the wrong places now and that we are going to have to start to buy a crib and a stroller and many other things guys no nothing about image It sucks growing up. It was nice when you were 28 and singe and had tons of disposble income to piss !! not any more i guess.

I really have a gut feeling that someone is going to pull the tiger auto too. That would really be awsome.

I have not been in a group rip since the Gary fiasco. Put me in for a box.

If this was a month AFTER my wedding instead of being a month BEFORE my wedding, I would jump in and show you how to rip. Unfortunately (for this rip) I used my very limited pre-wedding rip money on the 1972 OPC rip. Ask me in March!

By the way, for those of you on the fence, this is a FUN box to rip, even if you don't like golf cards.

Listen to your wife...They know best..... "Happy Wife is a Happy Life"

Seriously, Congrats John on your baby coming. Is that going to be your first one? If it is, tell your wife that a couple of baby showers from both sides of your family will knock alot of things of your need list for the new baby. However, it's amazing how many things you will need that people don't think of and how much it all adds up to.

My best to you and your wife.

Last night tonight, maybe we can get it done. BBCE did email me and said:

"I see the Golf thread is going pretty well. If it doesn't fill completely up, let me know and maybe we can work something out."

So it looks like they are willing to work with us even if we don't get it all the way, but I want to try tonight to get it there.

    Hi Kevin,

No, I didn't check that because I only collect signed rookies. This is the one I want to hit.

SP GU is 235 a box. You are guarenteed at least one Tiger auto in a case of 12, which means you have a 1:12 shot at doubling or tripling your money. SPA is
cheaper, but the chances of hitting a Tiger auto are a lot longer. Probably too late to switch now...I hope someone here hits the Tiger! Good Luck

<< <i>If I were lucky enough to get the Woods Auto, I will sell the card on fee bay and use the proceeds to buy one case (12 boxes) for all of the participants to rip (a box going to each name on the list). That way we kinda keep the group rips going...

Congratulations! There's nothing better than having a child.

I have a 31 month old daughter and love it. She came along when I was 27.

FWIW my wife and I had a lot of conversations on this subject but she has been very supportive of my collection. Our agreement is pretty simple in that I stay away from the bank account. If I see something that I really want I sell some things and raise the cash. With that being said it doesn't matter what I buy in that she knows that we're not breaking the bank. With that being said it's possible to have a collection and a family.

  • << <i>I have a 31 month old daughter and love it. >>

Dude, your child is 2 1/2 not 31 months. I have an 188 month old daughter. image

Calling her 31 months old keeps that "baby" thing going on. Considering that we do not know if/when we will have another child I need to keep her little.

I just read over what I wrote and I sound like a complete D-bag. It totally came off the wrong way. I am thrilled and extremely excited to have a baby. My wife and I have been trying for about a year now. I was just trying to say that it was nice when you were younger (I am almost 30 now, and probably time to grow up) not having to worry about expenses and not thinking twice about spending cash on luxuries that aren't really needed. It is just funny what you spend money on once you get married.image
  • mike,

put jswieton's name down for a spot and I'll pay for it. It'll be my baby shower gift to him (guys get screwed at baby showers.) I had two for both of my daughters and I got squat! Not even a cool daddy tote bag.

Got it down. 3 more to go. I've got to go to CPR class this morning and will return this afternoon. When i get back, I'll call BBCE and see if we have enough for them to honor the price and will either post payment details at that time, or let y'all know that it's a no go.

    Thanks,

    Wow, what a gesture!

Mike, is there anything close to a guaranteed Woods autograph or big insert per case? My only hesitation for you guys might be that you could buy an overwhelming majority of the case and none of you get the big hit.

Mike, I'm very happy to see your group rip is coming together nicely and looks like it will go through. I'd love to get a box, but I've been out of work since the day my wife had our baby on Sept 4, 2008 and now it looks like I might be out of work even longer because of the Screen Actors Guild wanting to start a strike vote any dow now. Hopefully I'll be able to jump on something like this rip later in the year. image

    Good luck to everyone!!!!

You probably shouldn't tell her this but I can assure you that a lot of the "necessities" are things that will rarely (if ever) get used. Of all of the new furniture that we had to have I believe that 2 of the 4 pieces got use. Enjoy the moment!

I just had to read this twice, I don’t even know what to say. Your act of kindness has literally brought tears to my eyes. All I can say is WOW, thank you so much. The generosity of board members here is no less then amazing. You have literally made my week. Thank you very much!!
I will make a deal with you. If I happen to hit an auto I will put it up on eBay and we can split the final sale price. I am still in absolute shock and speechless. Thank you!!!
