Even if the law mandated that they had to be certified by PCGS. Where are the PCGS lobbyists??? Heck, I don't have any home equity to fund newps. Time to raid the retirement account and preferably sans penalty! Okay, j/k re the account. It was gutted last year so it needs to incubate awhile first.
Aside, went to the PCGS booth at FUN yesterday. Brought a couple 1825 cbhs that I had previously submitted. One graded and one bagged. Thing is, I think they got em switched. Anyway, without belaboring the details, the customer service was superb (and I will find out today whether they agreed with me on the switcheroo).
I also threw in a pitch that the coin they intended to BB should have graded. (IMO she's a 62). I doubt they will grade her this time but eventually they will, I suspect.
Questionable color was the issue. Full luster 'neath the toning. Not particularly attractive either but me thinks NT all day.

After getting them back, I showed the MS coin to Sheridan Downey. He thought the luster was not commensurate with the rest of the coin, which he agreed was MS. Granted the luster is not flashy but it is full and unbroken across all fields and devises.
Looking at his MS offerings, I can see why he was not impressed. Lotsa nice stuff there!!
Still I think she warrants a 62. I will probably hold for a year and retry.
