That looks more like PhotoShop than it does a flash.

    Just another EBAY scammer.

He can replace that photo AFTER the sale.

The bum has several OCs listed w/o mentioning the Q.

PayPal will agree that such an item is SNAD. Hopefully,
any buyers will not send the scammer a paper payment.

    Hi John,

I had a boss years ago that ALWAYS used that phrase .... it used to drive everyone nuts, but wisely, no one ever said anything to him about it.

This guys punctuation is something to be desired too ... "Thank you and good luck with your bidding and purchase’s."

I sent this scholar an email asking if the card was an 8 or an 8OC.

I'll post his response if and when I get it.

Which one? Verbs and nouns are tricky...as are apostophes. I'm guilty of it too sometimes though, I'm sure.

That does drive me nuts. I don't like the way the sentence is worded (especially "We have up for sell . . . "), I don't like that he capitalized "vintage baseball," and his usage of "thats" is just wrong. And on top of that he is a scamster.

Edited to add that the cert verification proves it's an 8 OC if anyone had any doubts.

Apostrophes are even trickier. I've taught college grammar classes for some time, and every year the grammatical errors seem to get more numerous.

Yes, but not as much as "PayPal excepted," though I guess that one's been rendered irrelevant by eBay's brilliant management team.

    Very unethical.

People struggle with plurals and possessives.

He does have a number of errors but the one I was referring to is the 'up for sell'. I see that all the time, but I'm not sure why because it doesn't even sound right!

I started seeing it on EBAY several years ago.

Before that, the only recall I have of it was a sales manager I knew many
years ago who would tell his troops to, "Bring me some sells."

I think, based on the common location of the EBAY sellers who use it in
listings - and on the boards - it may have some root in the mid-west.

At the old EBAY LIVE events, it was heard constantly. There have been
many discussions of it on the EBAY boards.

It is really starting to torque me that the SK seller's listing is not being removed.

Meanwhile, I still cannot list any quantity of TOPPS Tiffany cards. There are even
reports from music sellers that CDs recorded by "Tiffany" cannot be listed. And,
that Audrey Hepburn - "Breakfast At Tiffany's" - movie posters are also a problem.

Maybe the seller thinks that (OC) stands for outstanding card.

Maybe OC is not allowed to be used in titles anymore due to complaints from "The OC" television show.

My message to the seller: Interesting how your flash just happens to block out the OC qualifier on this card. Funny how you left it out of the description for this card as well. I have reported you to Ebay.

Message I just got from seller:

This is a great guy we are dealing with!

I sent him two messages the second was was stronger than the first! called ebay to carefully explain exactly was is improper with listing. The customer service rep was good. She will report it to a fraud specialist that works on and know and understands rare cards. (We hope?) image

    06472518 = 8 OC

The guy is a scumbag and Im sure that his "Out" is the fact that he put the cert # in the title.

The cert number was in the title the whole time? yikes.

I didn't notice! I guess the glare from the card through me off!
