I will guess PCGS graded it AU58. It is tough to tell from the image whether the stars are slightly worn. The surfaces have few hits and it appears to have nice luster so it may grade as high as MS62.

AU58 is good choice since it's the highest grade before the big price jump. There is a lot of value for your collecting dollar at this grade.

Type 2 double eagles (particularly those from the S-mint) are notorious for being heavily bag marked. Many Type 2’s, even MS examples, have deep abrasions and low eye appear. AU examples with a touch of wear can have better eye appear then low MS coins, and are available at a reasonable price. I think the coin in the OP and those below are in this category. The 1874 is the Eliasberg coin.

It's an AU58. I'll say though, you can hardly see any wear.
Probably the best grade to buy at given the price increase past MS60!

Looks like it came from a European bank that didn't count their holdings as often as other banks.
