I just picked up a few Native Americn dollars at the Mint Store.
They look great in hand.
However, I noticed that on the d dollars, somebody must have been in a hurry at the D location. The edge on these coins look like they were chewed and spit out...

<< <i>Can you put up a pic? I'd love to see them. >>
Jinx...you owe me!
I wonder why they are going to direct-ship so early with these dollars? None of the other "sacs" were direct-shipped via the mint as far as I know. The Van Buren dollars aren't available in this manner yet.
<< <i>Hunh? Do you live next to the mint? The direct-ship dollars went on sale on the website just today. And you have them already?

I woerk next to the mint store.
They have the dollars in change dispensers.
I inserted 2 five dollar bills and got 10 of them.
A tip, pres proof sets and unc coin releases are at the mint store at 12 noon on the day they are released.

It all depends. If you are in the DC area.
Hit the train on the rerlease date and go to Metro center. The mint store used to face the old convention center which is now a parking lot.
Really.
I have not seen it all yet.

Where is your mall at BTW?
The name is LEE!

I tried to order by phone and was told "NO!" Operator told me not available until Monday 1/5/09
So I ordered online. WTF
So I can say that I actually walked out of the mint with some brand new coins.
(The official Mint Store is in a trailer outside the Mint building, proper -- they also had change machines for new dollars and quarters.)
<< <i>A sellout?! >>
That is what the guy on ebay is eluding to already. LOL
