I'd pay a toll to learn a thing or two and be consumed by trolls for attempting to cross the bridge of knowledge. It's worth the risk, and I appreciate your attempts to educate, Jay.

Your posts have much to say and even though there's an aggressive style, it's so down to earth, people should take heed.
That baby with the big mouth is my favorite off topic coin photo in the world. I can still remember one of my nieces screaming when she saw it on my monitor one day. It traumatizes children... I swear.

There comes a time when one realizes that great communicators like Bokkiman are here simply to disrupt and create discord.

I see very few true collectors (not ALL mind you) and virtually no modern gold collectors. That left me in the position to either start an academic numismatic thread about gold or to join in on the very few more intelligent threads.

Now Bokkey thinks he won because, WoW, I posted again ("the last word"). I'm not here for his entertainment nor his perpetual negative and abrasive posts. There are some many, many decent people here, where's John Curlis?

, but the time wasted at this point is of very little value. The good guys KNOW who they are and many are likely thinking the same thing I am.

This isn't a goodbye thread. I find them to be boorish. I'm not leaving. It's a statement of the condition of what was once a GREAT forum with an abundance of enaging threads all day long. Now it's a "whiner's board" for the most part...Ebay thieves, mail deliveries, bad pictures, coins that have been messed with, dealer bashing and other uninteresting topics.

It's time for some soul searching and self examination, people. You gotta raise the bar here. It's droll, boring and like the complaint department at Macy's.

You have a great vehicle but it's deteriorating. Just look at the active roster compared to a few years again and ask yourself why it's so depleted. Where are the really intelligent, experienced guys who are active in the market who used to post here all the time? There was a day when this was THE PLACE to get smart. It's not anymore.

jay, it's a new year. Step back and relax. I really don't dislike you. I just call them as I see them. When you post informative threads, I am all for that and you should see that I don't go in those threads and say anything. When you post words from someone else's mouth, that make things seem pretty shady, I do call it out.

Sorry that you have to attack those that disagree with you. Just take some time off to relax. Maybe go to an amusement park or something?

I'm still amazed that rather than identifying the true crux of SG's orig post: that <1% of TPG coins out of 150 were CACable, things gravitated to why didn't 99.5% fail, rather than a less "robust" 99.25%. One would think that even a purely random picking of any group of TPG coins would come up with a better success rate than 99.25%. But better to debate the missing 0.25% (the trees) than to wonder what happened to our forest. A number of those old timer posters probably got tired of seeing a few individual trees being blamed for poor forest growth.
