Ok, well, all I can say about my Secret Santa gift is wow...not only did I receive cards that have been on my PC wish list for years, my Secret Santa James (bighurt2000) single handedly did more for my personal collection in one generous gesture than I've been able to do in a year. I can't say thank you enough...amazing, amazing generosity on his behalf. As soon as I get everything in team bags and penny sleeves I'll post up some scans...

    Thank you James!!!

edited to add: I'm actually shaking right now...thank you so much!

This is what I got from Santa, this by my request to Matt:

I got your name in the Santa Exchange. Matt said you would like me to donate the cards to a local charity in lieu of receiving a gift. I took a nice load of Packer cards to the American Cancer Society to give to some kids. They said they were not a good charity to do that to so I donated what I would have spent on your gift in cash to the American Cancer Society.

I am a cancer survivor of over 5 years now and the American Cancer Society has helped me through my ordeal so I hope your gift to them can do the same for another.

    Merry Christmas.

First thing I have to say is thank you to Santa Craig!!! I love the "wrapping paper" and the box the cards came in...too funny!!image

All the gifts are great! I really appreciate it

Funny story about the 1994 Collectors Choice card. I had it on my watch list for a while. It was in an ebay store if I remember correctly. For some reason I thought I had the card in my set in 10 form so I put off buying it. As it turned out I had a 9 so I went to buy the card but "someone" already bought it image I was a little upset image

Funny it turned out to be you that purchased it image

I'll start with the wrapping paper:

Love the personalized tags form Joe O image

He even threw in some pics of some real lady killer type looking guys lol

Now the good stuff. All i can say is WOW. Check the great Aikman framed game used jersey print

The scan came out horrible but you get the idea

    eTopps

I hope I got everything...this is absolutely unbelievable. So many of my personal collecting goals have been met with this and so many cool modern cards I never thought I'd have...my game used collection probably more than doubled.

edited to add...so many of the game used and insert cards are individually numbered to extremely low productions.

James' karma points have gone through the roof. I knew he had an amazing Frank Thomas collection, but my goodness it must be unimaginable if this is any reflection of it. Thank you again James, I don't even know what to say.

I gotta say..my santa Jim hooked me up with some sweet cards. Here are some of the scans. You'll note he kept me guessing with the wrapped "grab bag" cards! Love the presentation of the Kalines in a rack pack! The fleer packs added to the fun...got some nice cards out of there too!

Well I got home from work and went for the Priority Mail Box and opened it up.

There was a handwritten note saying:
“Read after you have opened the items”

So being the lawful person I am I opened 3 wrapped presents.

The 1st was this very nice Dwight Evans-
    image

Next was this nice little item of one of the best clutch pitchers and someone who should be in the hall of fame

    image

Next was this- A member of the hall of fame and a sweet card.

    image

I then opened the other package and these 3 came out.
    image

    This one reads:
    To Jonathan:
Thanks for being a Red Sox Fan
    ’04 World Series Champs!
    Mike Timlin

    image

Then I see this one that reads:
    To Jonathan:
    Best Wishes
    Bob Doerr HOF 86
I believe Mr Doerr is the oldest living hall of famer.

    image
    Then this item which reads:
    Dear Jonathan:
Well I know how bad you must have felt, but I would like you to know, that no one felt worse than I did, because it meant that I had to work game 7 the next night. I felt bad for Buckner as he was playing hurt and couldn’t make the play.
I guess that’s what makes the games so great and enjoyable.
    John Kibler

I must say I am speechless and my wife is just as excited as I am.

I found one other little gift taped to the cardboard and I sure hope he makes the hall of fame as he was my alltime favorite player growing up.

    image

I am very happy and truly appreciate my gift.
    Thank you Santa!!

    Rube,

What did you rest those 52's on to photograph them? It looks like the belly of a salamander. Or maybe a pile of intestines from the possum you caught for dinner?

In any case, everyone got some SWEET stuff. Way to go Secret Santas.

Is that his rug? I was thinking countertops. But neither really makes sense, as Rube already confirmed he lives outdoors.

    Thanks Doug!!!

My Secret Santa sent me an original wire photo from the 1937 Notre Dame v. Army game (which the Irish won 7-0 in the days that Army was a football powerhouse). Photo pictures the captain of the Irish as well as the great Elmer Layden. For those that don't know, Layden was one of the fabled Four Horsemen of Notre Dame.
