Half baked, half brick of halfs.

BBBBOOOOOOOOOYYYYYAAAAA

brought home half a brick of halfs and started sorting through them....

Haven't gone through for varieties but 80% of the remaining halves are pre 1985.

Here's what I ended up with today.

26 bicentennials all AU or better

1967 x 2
1966 x 3
1965 x 1
1964 x 4

8 Frankies

1961 x 3
1960 x 1
1959 x 4

***32 WALKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (will list dates later)

and what looks to be 8 Barbers from an old holder.....tape across the face of them.

1895 p
1900
1900 S
1906 O
1906 D
1909
1911
1912

Will post pics in a few.....

Cool! Cant wait to see. I was in 20 retail branches over 2 weeks... not one role of halves to be had and not even my "home" bank would order for me.

    Congrats.

The banks in my area frown on this and don't want to sell them to you and don't want you to cash them in either. image

I'll second STONE'S sentiments....you do suck! 32 Walkers and 8 Barbers? I'd be going back see what else they got. Thats quite a haul......considering the horror stories of fishing through bricks of halves, and coming up with 3 40% Kennedy's, or some useless numbers like that, you have done quite well. With the Walkers and Barbers totalling a roll of 90% silver, the rest is all profit, no?
I'll come up with something, eventually.

I hope to do as well as you. I will be picking up 40+ rolls tomorrow from my bank

A couple of years ago I tried this real hard and purchased 3 boxes of halves (1500.00 worth) and found exactly ZERO silver. Although I did manage to find a few rolls of nice MS clad which I resold on ebay for a tiny profit.

Man you did indeed hit the motherload. Enjoy this find, because they seem to be rare....

I wouldn't necessarily agree with "horror stories". I searched a $500 box earlier this year and found nothing, but I did come across a couple rolls worth of nice AU/low-MS coins to swap out for my Dansco! It was kind of fun after all, because my Kennedy album is one I hadn't touched in a long time and it has lots of holes. Everything in it is from circulation.
