Got mine today. Nice coins and design, but the unc is just like the 2006 Old Mint version......... very bland; no contrast.

  • I don't know, I like the uncirc better than the proof, proof has plenty of contract, obviously. I guess it's just a personal opinion....

  • Tom...I got mine maybe 10 days ago, and had some up on ebay. The ONLY ones to sell were the 'Eaglet' halves....had 3 proof and 3 unc...sold every one of them. These are coins I WOULDN'T have sent in for grading, as the quality of damn near every coin I received, including the 3 piece set, well, let me just say there wouldnt have been ANY 70's, and I am quite sure there would have been 68's in there also. It's just funny that all the halves were sold, and nothing else....I hope you have better luck than I did. Though, the UNC $5 gold Baldie I got, THAT one was immaculate....its going in for grading and I just KNOW its gonna go at least 69 (personally, I think it will 70).

  • rgCoinGuy....I love that unc MUCH better than the proof, though, I have to disagree with Bajjerfan....they arent THAT bland. And, I love the POTENTIAL for the Unc version. 100,000 mintage across all options for the $5 gold. 25,000 of those are already in the 3 piece proof set. 25% of the $5 gold are already in proof, and in those 3 piece sets. I LOVE the potential of the Unc....and as I said previously, my Unc, well, I am not a professional grader, but I looked at that bad boy 5-6 times with a 14X Hastings Triplet, and I could not find a THING that would make that coin grade anything but a 69 or better (I will go out on that limb again and say this coin is gonna 70, its that flawless). But, the potential the unc has, its unlimited, I think...I hope 90% of them are sold in proof (got a great start with 25,000 already in the 3 piece set), and watch this turn into another Jackie Robinson.

I always thought that they should re-issue the Morgan series, but after seeing the Bald Eagle and 2006 Old Mint unc silver dollars I'd withdraw that request. The proofs have much more pizzazz and eye appeal IMO. Maybe the non-burnished version would be a lot better; I know I like my 2001 Buffalo uncirc.

I'm still waiting. My order was placed on Jan 19. My brother placed his order a week later. He got his last Friday. I called and asked about mine today. They said it would be 4 to 6 weeks. Hopefully it wil be worth the wait.

My Gold Unc. look real bad, sending those back.

I love the designs. As I inspect the Proof Silver $1, the amount of feathers is amazing, there must be over 100 feathers, very good design, nicely done.
Also the the little rock to the right, very nice and I love the reverse.

I'd say this is one of the nicest $1 silver coins minted in some time.

Same with the Gold. Excellent detail, nicely done. I think these are winners all the way.

Well these coins are gone forever.

It was certainly unexpected for me, that the mint would stop sales of these commems.

    Final sales figures?

Dunno, but I got a few of each. How are they doing in the marketplace?

    Seem to be selling...

Personally, I really like the reverse of the Half Dollar best, but the $5 is a nice coin too... not too fond on the Silver Dollar...
