Guys, thank you for buying cards from me this year. I appreciate it and have been lucky to have met some great collectors along the way. To say thanks I am giving away cards and some other stuff for Christmas to anyone who has bought cards from me this year.
Here's all you need to do:
1) Reply to this thread and remind me what you bought. For repeat buyers, just reply and I'll know.
2) Second, I would like to ask that each of you consider making a donation to your local humane society or animal rescue group to help out homeless animals this time of year. I don't care if it's $1.00 or $1000, it's something I care deeply about and would appreciate your help.
You can either support the organizations in your area or you can help me with this situation: two days ago on my way to work I ran into traffic in my neighborhood when someone ran over a little schnauzer who had darted into the road. He was killed instantly, ironically directly across the street from a veterinary clinic. On my way home that night I stopped by the vet clinic, asked what happened, and then had my heart broken. Apparently a family in our area had let both the schnauzer and their poodle out that morning into their yard to run around, do their business, etc. It was windy that morning and the wind blew the gate open, so the dogs got loose and ran out of the yard. Within minutes, the schnauzer ran out into the street and was killed. As their owner was tending to him, the poodle became scared and ran away. They called a police officer to help find her, and about an hour later he located her running back towards the family's house. But before he could corral her, she too ran out into the street and was run over. She died at the veterinary clinic a little while later. As you can imagine, this family is inconsolable over their unbelievable loss. To lose their two pets in the same day in the same manner is beyond terrible, at this time of year. I am going to find some way along with our neighbors to help them and if you would like to participate in that effort, just let me know.
3) Ok, now the fun part. I was going to think of a contest to give away the good stuff but that's not necessary. Y'all have already bought from me, you deserve the cards. Just reply to this post by Sunday at midnight CST, and all who do will go into a random draw I will conduct on Monday morning. There will be at least 15 gifts, all shipped to each winner next week. If less than 15 people reply to the post, some people will be getting multiple gifts. Don't ask what the gifts are because Santa Burgundy ain't tellin.'
Thanks, and Merry Christmas to one and all!
Ron
PS. If you have not bought cards from me yet, you can still buy anything I have up for sale to get in on the fun!

My wife's parents run a pet rescue program. There's a network where people rescue pets from bad homes or the lockup, and try to find better homes for them. Petfinder.com has available pets from all over, maybe they have something nearby and you can help those folks find a pet to love?
I have today off and spent the morning taking pics of some of the dogs at my inlaws house so they can add them to their site.
Wonder what this dog did that was so bad that he ended up in doggie jail?
Bought a couple times from you this year, couple 50's Football and then a lot of 72 Basketball. So Throw my name in.
Thanks for the Contest/Givaway!

I've never bought from you, but I tip my cap to you for raising money for such a good cause. My wife and I have a donation automatically come out each month for the Humane Society.

Nice of you to offer the cards but the important thing is to bring up the fact that many animals are in need of rescue and need homes. My wife and I belong to a rescue group here in L.A. and try to do our part in helping to get cats nutured and vacinated among other things. Our love is for cats and there is always a need for volunters and money for these organzations. Gary

The Humane Society and Rescue Leagues are a great cause. We support their local fundraisers whenever we can, and all four of our cats have been adopted/rescued.
Thanks!
Very nice of you to try and help the family out...very hard to lose a family member, especially at this time of the year. We regularly contribute to the local animal shelters and the Standardbred Retirement Foundation.
Great of you to offer this!
Great gesture on your part. Being a animal lover myself I am making it a point
to help out my local humane society this year. Thanks for the awareness.

I generally go there because like humans, most of these animals deserve a second chance.
