This may sound like a really dumb question but....

I'll ask anyway. I sold a card 10 days ago on ebay. I sent the buyer two invoices. No reply. I checked his feedback and saw that he recently neg'd another seller because the seller filed a npb to get his listing fee back.

I just looked and now the buyer is listed as "not a registered user".

So, is it safe for me to assume that I can proceed with a npb procedure to get my fee back without the worry of retaliation?

I assume not being registered basically means they are banned.....I am right?

I would hate to have my feedback ruined by some bunghole or anyone for that matter image

    I just want to be sure they can't become "unregistered" and mess up my feedback.
  • They could come back and be normal and in that regard potentially leave you a negative in the future. I wouldn't worry about that happening as if they come back they should understand why you did what did and others are doing it as well.

    Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
  • If they are NARU'd for NPB's and you file another one, I would think the chances of their account becoming active again are slim.

    Thanks guys...time to go file

    After 7 days he wouldn't be able to leave feedback anyway.

    That is 7 days from the time you file.

    He is NARU so he can't answer it thus even if he comes back he wouldn't be able to neg you.

    Unless Storm sees another scenario that I am missing I think you should be ok.

    Good for you.

    It's your call, but I've had some buyers go NARU and they still paid me, I shipped the item, and everything was fine. In this case though, I doubt that this guy is gonna pay, but you may want to wait a day or two.

    If there are no dumb questions, then what do stupid people ask??? image

    You can always not go through with the NPB thing if he does pay, Time is of the essence if you are concerned
    about his ability to leave a negative.

    I'm not sure, but I imagine if he comes back clean, the feedback info would still be on there, and he could leave a neg. But just a feeling this guy probably isn't coming back.

    The standard playbook says that sellers should file their NPB
    IMMEDIATELY when they see their deadbeat has been NARUd.

    In many cases, the "7-day wait" is waived and the seller's FVFs
    are returned almost immediately.

    There are iffy stories about NARUd NPBs coming back to life and leaving
    NEGs. In every confirmed case that I am aware of, T&S will remove
    such NEGs. (An exception would be that a NARU caused by an expired
    credit card and reversed while an NPB filing was active could be
    responded to IF the NPB remained open for 7-days; in such a case,
    if the NPB responded within the rules - alleging product defect or
    seller misconduct - the reinstated NPB could leave a NEG that might
    be difficult to have removed.)

    Dang, That's some complicated carp.

    /////////////

    Recap: When you get a NARUd NPB, file for your FVFs IMMEDIATELY.

    Well that was fast lol

    I filed the npb and got this message right away;

    "Because eBay user bashker123 is no longer a registered user, you have received a Final Value Fee credit for the following item"

    Thanks again all!

    "..."Because eBay user bashker123 is no longer a registered user, you have received a Final Value Fee credit for the following item".."

    ////////////////////////////////

    As noted above that is fairly routine.

    It is likely that such "instant refunds" are granted against NPBs
    that were NARUd for reasons other than "an expired credit card
    or a changed phone number."

    I have had guys go NARU for expired credit cards and come back
    in a day or two. But, that was before sellers were defenseless
    against unwarranted NEGs, so I never had any problems.
