    Here's my opinion:

    Ricky Henderson,
    Mark Grace,
    Mark McGwire,
    Jim Rice,
    Andre Dawson,
    Tommy John,
    Don Mattingly,
    Dave Parker,
    Tim Raines,
    Alan Trammell
  • The only 3 with a shot are Henderson, Rice and Dawson. Mattingly and Murphy belong in my opinion but will probably never get in.

Only Rice and Henderson in my humble opinion

I don't actively collect sports cards or memorabilia for any of those guys.
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

    Henderson
    Raines
    Blyleven
    Trammell

I would vote in the above order. Mattingly is not close. Murphy, Morris, and Rice are closer, but would not get my vote. Raines was a much better player than Rice; Raines was roughly the equivalent of Gwynn. Raines' extra walks make up for Gwynn's extra singles. Their OBPs were .385 v .388.

McGwire will have to play out later, IMHO. My expectation is that Henderson abd Rice will be the only ones elected.

I'm predicting this (with estimated voting percentages)

    In
    Ricky Henderson (higher than 95%)
    Jim Rice (just above 80%)

    Hold-overs to 2010
    Bert Blyleven (<70%)
    Andre Dawson (<70%)
    Don Mattingly (<20%)
    Mark McGwire (<25%)
    Jack Morris (<45%)
    Dale Murphy (<15%)
    Dave Parker (<15%)
    Tim Raines (<25%)
    Lee Smith (<40%)
    Alan Trammell (<15%)
    Mark Grace (<15%)
    Mo Vaughn (<10%)

    Out
    Harold Baines (<5%)
    Jay Bell (<1%)
    David Cone (<5%)
    Ron Gant (<5%)
    Jesse Orosco (<5%)
    Dan Plesac (<1%)
    Greg Vaughn (<5%)
    Matt Williams (<5%)

    Off to the Veterans Committee
    Tommy John (<30%)
    My Giants collection want list

    Henderson for sure

    My Wish picks:

Ricky's the only lock here. Would like to see Rice get in finally, but you never know. People thought he was a shoe-in the last couple of years, but it didn't happen then and would not surprise me if it didn't happen this year as well (unfortunately).
  • Rickey says Rickey gets in.

Huh? Who thought he was a shoo-in? He can't get in for twelve years, but he's a shoo-in in year 13? I expect he will be elected, but I hope I am wrong. Raines is far more deserving.
  • henderson 100% rice 90%shot since I think he was close last time
    all others no way
  • what if baines had gotten to 3000 hits? Is he in? i THINK HE HAD 2800 SOMETHING

Question-No way anyone else gets in, or no way anyone else deserves it?

    What Rich said.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

I think you will see Henderson (He's a lock) and Jim Rice go in this year.
  • Rickey is a lock. Rice maybe because they are feeling very generous. He's very overrated.

oh. and Blylevn should already be in the HOF, but im sure they wont put him in again.

rickey has a chance at setting some sort of record.. he is an obvious choice in a very sub par class..
rice should get in.. I would love Donny baseball too but I know better

Considering Mr. Henderson is the only real shoo-in this year, this has got to be Mr. Blyleven's year. With my luck he'll come up less than ten votes short or something...

A 3 time All-Star reliever with the Brewers early in his career in the late 80s... common middle reliever for the rest of his career. Pitched in 1064 games. Not a hall of famer.

I see 20 people on that list that were considered to be serious future HOF candidates when they were in their prime. Now I only see 5 that would be on my HOF ballot and only one or two that will get in.

Never heard of him? I would not admit that in public. Where's the love for Raines? He's an easy HOFer.
