    That's a fair complaint. Consider that I've been improving steadily for four straight years (the first time I ever attempted to photograph a coin was in 2004) and reflect on how lucky you are that you aren't looking at my attempts from four years ago!

    None of this toning happened in this album. I've patiently hunted up reasonably well matched coins. Some of them seem clearly to have happened in albums (the reeded, seated, and Barber halves, for instance). The Washie and the Peace dollar were both things I found in those little cardboard/felt aftermarket year set holders. The Frankie I'm almost certain was a mint set coin, although I bought it as a single from another board member. There are coins from all over the place in the set.

    Here's a half dime I found at the Bedford, NH show in 2005, and a roosie I bought around 1982 as part of a year set in a plastic Whitman holder. It was not nearly so colorful at that time, but it was in one of those boxes with tissue paper. When I took it back out a few years ago, it was pretty incredible. Even worse than the others, the pic of this clad Roosie does not come close. That speck on the E in DIME was a speck of crud that fell on the coin while I was taking the picture. It's gone now.

    Make sure you get a slipcase! Otherwise these will retone while in the album. I have a lot of toners as well and made sure I used desicants and a slipcase.
    All coins kept in bank vaults.

    And here I was trying to get a good pic of this neat high-grade violet/lavender toned 82-D Washie. The intended coin didn't turn out to its best advantage, but its neighbor is looking good ...

    Sometimes things just make you smile. I had my coins home from the SDB for a minute this week. There are nine coins in this thread I posted a little over ten years ago, and I still have all of them in my 7070. Four of them came from other forum members, past and present. I was thinking about that other "why did I sell this?" thread, and I also found I have some "why have I kept this?" coins in the box, but all of these still spin my prop.
