What would you rather own?
I was looking at the MS67 1927-S Saint that SG posted the other day and thinking that as
cool as that coin is from a rarity standpoint, the aesthetics really don't do much for me. In
other words, if it were a common date MS67, I'd never want to own it. The price guide
lists the coin at $400K, which may be low, but let's use that for the sake of argument. So
if someone gave you $400K and the option to buy either:
A) The PCGS MS67 1927-S $20 (pop. 1); or
One each of the 1909 Roman proof $20 PCGS PR67 and 1911 matte proof $20 PCGS PR67 (both pop. 2)
Which would you choose?

Proof gold is remarkable stuff.

However...
1. I'd like to see the proof gold first
2. I'd rather spend $400K on colonial era coins!

That's all fine, but in the interest of keeping the thread on track, please don't respond
unless you want to select either A or B. Thanks.

Ok sir, I'll be guided by you toward the answer B you want to hear also, and thanks for asking!
But really, I'd go neither, and choose an assortment of pre-1800 type in mid grades.

OK, sorry if I offended anybody. I'm sure a thread about how you'd like to spend $400K on
any coins would be fascinating, but this isn't it. And I don't "want to hear" anything. I have
my preference, and was interested in what percentage of the board agreed or disagreed,
and why.
Cheers.

But I'd rather own a 1933 Saint <shhh>
But if I had my choice I'd rather have the 1873-CC no arrows James Stack Seated Quarter which graces the cover of Larry Briggs' book.

That said, I'd choose B, but really it would depend on which coin(s) appealed the most to me.
