1856 Flying Eagle cent...

It had me fooled, besides the date. To me it looks like a real 1958 that's been modified to be a 1956. What do you'll think?

If it's just an altered date, they screwed with one nice looking FE Cent.

There are many, well published, diagnostics for a genuine 1856 flying eagle that is would be easy to tell a fake from a real one. Still, it looks like it could be a genuine flying eagle cent.

At least the seller says it's a fake.

image I agree 100%, but I wouldn't be surprised that most if not all the bidders plan on reselling for a quick buck to some innocent newbie collector.

That is a simple Chinese fake. Check ebay under "1856 replica" and see how many you find, exactly like this one, generally selling for less than $4. each.
