All I've ever had have been from the mid/late 50's to early 60's.

I believe production started in 1958 and ended in the very early 1980's. A major outlet for them was department store based coin shops.

They were more expensive than the Whitman Bookshelf Albums (introduced in 1960.) The Whitman albums had a much wider ranging distribution network.
    All glory is fleeting.

I really like these and I believe the production level dropped but continued into the 1970s

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

How rare is the ype coin LOC album? Is this one worth a premium?
  • I've got one, specifically made as a "General Album Half Dollar Size Coins", Vol 22, from 1959 (the amount of different coins that can fit in it, as stated in the book, are plentiful). I had never seen a 'General Album' before, but I like the idea of being able to load it with nothing but Classic commems, Walkers, Bust halves, Seated halves, etc...now to figure out what grade level to fill it with.
I'll come up with something, eventually.
