There was an easy trick to finding the early 90's Donruss Elite cards if you lived in a town with a large wholesaler like Sam's Club and a small handheld metal detector. I sent a letter to Beckett in '91 when they still answered you letters in the magazine. The same month my letter appeared in the baseball Beckett, the Donruss Elite were removed from the price guide.

10k is a ridiculous number!
But to be honest looking at ebay I'm completely amazed at how much those 91/92 Elites go for now. I just assumed they were all worthless these days.
