Of ALL the PCGS certified Washington Quarters I've handled, I have been extremely fortunate to have purchased ONLY ONE that turned in the slab and as Russ stated, as soon as I had the coin in hand I knew it just did not look right. It looked like no other I'd worked with BEFORE or since. It was completely washed out, totally devoid of luster!
I could see a milky white substance in the slab. IT WAS GROSS! To this day I blame this Big Name PCGS dealer for talking me into sending it to PCGS for a spot review - and all that ensued as a result of thereof instead of allowing me to return it to him and taking care of Business with PCGS and this "Problem coin", himself!
HE KNEW the coin was messed up, shirked responsibility & lost a good customer behind this fiasco.
Kudos to PCGS though as they did make good on their GUARANTEE!
