Are you planning on buying next years Ultra High Relief Gold Eagle and if so..............

wouldn't it also be grand if the Mint, in addition to producing the UHR Gold Eagle also produced a companion Gold Eagle, specifically a bullion example of the Judd 1776 Pattern Double Eagle with the Saint Reverse and the $10.00 Indian Obverse (one of the 100 Greatest Coins according to Garrett and Guth's book)?

I would be sorely tempted to buy both examples, both the UNC version and the Proof version.

What about you?

Huh? Is someone else minting these coins now?

Maybe I'm missing something but you are only reimbursing someone that has already bought from the gov't. I guess I just don't understand all this hatred for the the gov't. that seems to be so trendy nowadays.

I'm buying mine from the mint.

If these carry the same ridiculous % premium that the Jackson Spouse coins have, I'll probably wait for the secondary market with maybe 30% MSN Live cash back.

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

I will probably buy one. Not sure if I'll buy from the mint or secondary market, since there's no limit on these. I'll do whatever is the wrong thing to do, most likely.

Gold coins from the US Mint are frequently much cheaper on the secondary market. As an example, many gold commems are now treated like bullion coins.

I'm probably going to wait for the 2010 palladium version. However, if they make one with this design, I might change my mind:

  • I want 4 of them.t.

Two I will put away for each of my kids. They won't appreciate it.

One I will keep and put where I can enjoy it.

Alas the ONE I will keep to sell later to try and help off set the cost of the first three.

This is based on the coin not costing more then currently planned.

I will purchase them for resale and think that they will be a big hit.

I will probably buy one, unless the premiums are excessive (which would not surprise me).

If the premium is not too high I will buy from the mint, if so I will just wait and buy from an auction. I just need to figure out what I need to sell to be able to afford one of these. I better start saving now.

I will buy one, or two, but probably in the aftermarket. I don't see these coins cooling down for a long time, and think they will probably fetch a strong premium for many years.

Is the palladium version coming out in 2010, and not in 2009? Is it 100% for sure, or is it still tentative?

"Sales of the 24-karat gold coin will begin early next year. Coin collectors need not worry about limited mintages, as none will be in place. However, the gold pieces will be issued only in 2009.

Later in 2010, palladium versions of the famous design will be minted and issued if the Original Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle Ultra-High Relief Palladium Bullion Coin Act becomes law."

Would you be interested in being the front man for anyone here willing to commit in advance to purchase, with a reduced vig on your part since you'd have the funds upfront?

These will undoubtedly be high mintage coins with little chance at ever being worth more than the issue price (or melt value if that exceeds issue price).

But damn, those are some great looking coins. I don't care if I lose money. I'm in.

No, too many offerings, Proof, unc, silver, gold, platinum, fractionals, presidents, presidents wives, the list goes on and on. They are forcing me to choose and its becoming less appealing all the time. I will try to stay with the less popular items, maybe one set of platinums each year.
