How long should it take to ship an Ebay purchase from Portgual to the US?

On a whim, I bought a dirt cheap item on Ebay. The seller is in Portgual, and the flat rate shipping to the US was $6. Does anyone have any idea how long it might take to travel from Portgual to Connecticut? I am in no rush, but I was curious whether it is a several week process, or quicker.

    Anywhere from 2 to 5 weeks.
    It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

    With my experience with the post office you could be looking at a time frame of 1 week to 1 lifetime.

    Portugal still uses wooden sailing ships for thier merchant fleet.

    You'll be okay though, as long as what you ordered won't spoil.

    I mailed a package by first class international shipping to Portugal on Oct. 8 and received positive feedback on Oct. 14. I don't know what it's like going the other way, though.

    Is it being shipped by air or surface? If by air, less than a week. If my surface, could be 3-6 weeks.

    In my experience and also with one of my friends, you will not receive a paid for item from Portugal.

    I'd expect it to make it to you sometime in the second week -- that has been my experience to other European countries (though not Portugal).

    I shipped a gold Cambodian coin TO Portugal ( where's portgual ? ) and it took less than a week. Then it was hung up in Portugese customs for another month+, plus I had to submit all kinds of extra documentation to help the guy out and he's a Portugese Coin Dealer.

    I got something from South Africa once in only 4 days by standard $6 airmail....but then I shipped something by priority to the UK once and it took nearly a month. International shipping is quite unpredictable in my experience

    I received the item yesterday, in case anyone was in a frothy frenzy wondering when this item would be delivered. That is 9 working days, which is not too bad for $6!!

    About what I would have expected Longacre. I ship fom Norway and it goes airmail. The mail services here allow 10-12 days. I has always arrived in the USA faster than that.
