Actually I think Dollar would work as well as $5. The question was denomination and Gold Dollars were made in Philly, Dahlonega, Charlotte, San Fransisco and New Orleans. Morgans cover Carson City and Denver. Silver Eagles cover West Point. I think that covers them all.
"I remember reading in the Redbook at the beginning of the Half Eagles section that they are the only demomination made at each of the mints."
Maybe so, but it is hard to dispute Commoncents05 logic regarding the dollar denomination. The OP specifically asked about "denomination", allowing gold dollars, Morgans and silver eagles.
They that can give up essential Liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither Liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin
