If Bushie would tell us what type of reserve he has (maybe he can log on and tell us at 7:05pm Pacific...after it closes), we can tell if it sells or not image

Very nice coin. What amazes me is that the past sales of NGC 67 pieces went for $400-$700.

Guess PCGS carries a lot of weight. The toning is also very cool, infact awesome.

13k, don't have that kind of change for a coin.

How does the last coin of this Grade sell for Hundreds of dollars in March of 2008 and just a few months later a coin of the same grade, but different grading service go for over 12,000 dollars more?

I'll wager that isn't a bid at all, but the (overly optimistic) reserve masquerading as a bid.

But 12,000 dollars more? I realize that crossing a coin over to PCGS results in a nice financial upgrade, but I would have figured that maybe it goes from several hundred dollars to maybe a few thousand....not all the way up into the 5 figures!?image

It was probably purchased raw for under $100.

I'm sure it was, and that crazy for a dealer to sell a coin like this raw! image But I'm sure Bushmaster didn't mind at all image

Had I offered a 62-D raw toned this way on ebay,
few would have even given it a second thought.

What am I saying? I have & do offer nicely
toned Gem BU Washington in 2x2 all the time.

Had it been listed as such, raw .... image

    Who woulda thunk it? image

Thats the 67 mark. Without it.....................MS68!

Actually, its a very nice coin but I'd really be surprised if it sells at that starting price.

Teletrade cinsignor's have appeared a bit overly optimistic lately.

It's not just a crossover, it's an upgrade. For moderns some say PCGS grades a point tougher. What is an NGC 68 worth? I'd reckon about $14k if it has PQ toning. I didn't see the coin but I bet some players did. I can give you similar examples in presidents. I always say to stick with PCGS for moderns. --Jerry

PCGS price guide $11,500.....why $14k???? Toning???
  • PCcoinsPCcoins Posts: 3,354 ✭✭✭
Its a beautiful coin for sure image But for 14 grand I think I will pass. Whoever the winner is must have pockets deeper than the grand canyon! Looks like someone needed it for a top registry spot. Congrats to Greg image As I'm sure finding this coin raw turned into a windfall for himself. Great eye!

I guess I was a little of on my prediction of $3,500-4,000. image That's some very expensive plastic right there, if this coin was cracked out and sold raw.... I wonder what the price would be image
